Chief Adviser’s High Representative on the Rohingya Issue and Priority Matters, Khalilur Rahman, has said there is no reason for concern over the US tariff issue, assuring that the situation is under control.
"We are in contact with the US administration. We are prepared... We will take measures soon," he told newsmen at a briefing in front of the state guest house Jamuna in the capital.
The emergency meeting, chaired by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus at 7:30 pm on Saturday, focused on the tariff issue.
Top officials, including advisers and economic experts, were present.
Khalilur Rahman noted that the issue has been under discussion with the US since February.
Commerce Adviser Sk Bashir Uddin said Prof Yunus himself will join and directly engage in talks with the US administration.
The government affirmed its commitment to resolving the matter through continued dialogue and strategic actions.
