‘Investment climate improves in BD’

DHAKA: Mentioning environment of investment has improved in the country, Bangladesh Bank governor Dr Atiur Rahman urged foreign investors to invest in Bangladesh.

He told banglanews Saturday morning after retuning from three-country visit from March 18.

The governor said the uncertainty created during national polls is now over. Foreigners can come to invest here. Government and other authorities concerned will provide all sorts of support.

The BB chief visited Japan, Thailand and Brunei and invited public and private entrepreneurs of those countries to invest in Bangladesh.

Bangladesh Bank assistant spokesperson AFM Asaduzzaman told banglanews that the BB governor was in a 10-day trip to three countries.

During his visit, the governor met Japan foreign minister, central bank governor and several private investors.

He, later, attended Islamic Financial Services annual conference in Brunei and also delivered a speech at a program at Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand.
