GP donates Tk 16-crore for Labour Welfare

DHAKA: Grameen Phone, one of the leading mobile operating companies of the country, has donated more than Tk 16-crore for welfare of labours.

The high officials of the company handed over a cheque of ‘Profit Participation Fund’ to State Minister for Labour, Mujibul Haq Chunnu, at the secretariat on Sunday.

GP officials said that a minor unit of company’s total profit is provided to Labour Welfare Foundation of the ministry for labour affairs.

Labour Secretary Mikail Shiper along with GP chief Human Resource Officer Kazi Mohammed Shahed, chief Corporate Affairs Officer Mahmud Hossain, Director Corporate Affairs Ishtiak Hossain Chowdhury and General Manager Corporate Affairs Enayet Karim were present in the program.
