No obstacle to get back GSP

DHAKA: Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed said that there were no more obstacles to get back Generalized System of Preferences (GSP).

He came up with the assertion while addressing a press conference at his secretariat office in city on Sunday noon.

Returning from U.S the commerce minister said that the US expressed satisfaction on the progress of their given conditions.

Tofail Ahmed said that BNP standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan and workers leader Roy Romesh secretly sent a letter to U.S. where they stated that workers are being tortured in Bangladesh garment factories.

In reply of a question regarding action against them, the minister said that proper steps will be taken against the people who sent letter against country’s interest.
