DHAKA: Some dishonest businessmen are trading contaminated ghee pouring it in the container of famous brands. 

The business is going on for long time as the authorities unaware of the matter. 

A mobile court against food adulteration led by Magistrate HM Anwar conducted a drive in house no 70/2 in Begum Bazar area of the city and arrested Samad along with huge containers of famous brands on early Tuesday.

Samad has been doing the illegal works for long. He collects the empty containers of famous brands like Milk Vita, Pran, Arong, Baghabari Ghee and so on and poured the counterfeit ghee into the container that seem alike.

The trader use Palm Oil, Dalda and colors to make the fake ghee. He uses the real ghee only to pour the upper side of the containers that make it seem real.

Lalbagh Camp Commander Major Sohel Hasan and Keraniganj Camp Commander Major Shamim were also present during the drive.

Magistrate Anwar Pasha said Samad was jailed three years ago on same reason.

A case would be filed against Samad with Special Power Act.

The drives against the culprits of making adulterated food would be continued as they are now more active for the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.
