DHAKA: The newly launched US-Bangla Airlines started its commercial services with attractive air fare but it has been facing stumbling blocks.

Civil Aviation sources said that recently an aircraft of the airlines became grounded which made schedule collapse.

There are two flights of US-Bangla in Dhaka-Chittagong route and a flight in Dhaka-Jessore route.

Sources said model Dash-8 Q800 almost dead and another one has hydraulic problem. On the other hand, the flights are delaying due to the shortage of aircraft causing sufferings to the passengers.

US-Bangla Airlines executive director MG Tauhid told banglanews: “Some parts of the aircraft have to be changed that’s why it was grounded. But mechanical fault in aircraft is regular problem which will be solved soon.”

On July, Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon inaugurated the service of the airlines in VVIP terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport with the slogan of “fly safe, fly fast”.

Managing director of US-Bangla Abdullah-al-Mamun said, “We have confidence that we will be successful.”

The US-Bangla Airlines authorities said they started the venture promising that they would provide luxurious services with modern aircrafts.

The number of flights would be increased gradually, said authorities of the airlines.
