Raushan asks Singapore minister to invest

DHAKA: Opposition leader in the parliament Raushan Ershad on Thursday urged visiting Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Home Affairs and Foreign Masagos Zulkifli Bin Masagos Mohamad to invest in Bangladesh.

Raushan Ershad made the plea when called on her at her residence

She said the country is now in a peaceful state and it is the best time for investment.

The Jatiya Party leader also promised to extend all kinds of support to investors from Singapore.

Masagos Zulkifli also said they were interested to invest in the power, shipping and ports.

The Singapore government has an intention of building a special economic zone in Bangladesh, he added.

He also praised the 1.5 lakh Bangladeshi workers who are working in Singapore.

Jatiya Party presidium member Ruhul Amin Hawlader, vice-chairman Shariful Islam Zinnah and Singapore High Commissioner to Bangladesh Chan Heng Wing were among others present at the meeting.
