Stocks end lower Sunday

DHAKA: Country's stock market marked significant fall in its price indices on Sunday.

DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, shed over 22 points only to stand at 4,801 at the close on the first trading day of the week.

Trade deals stood at 51860 with volume of transactions at Tk 1567 million.

Of the issues traded, 82 advanced, 190 declined and 33 remained unchanged.

LAFSURCEML topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 86 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were MJLBD, SQURPHARMA, SAPORTL, DESCO, TITASGAS, GP, BXPHARMA, SAIFPOWER     and BDTHAI.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8945 by dropping over 73 points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 42 gained, 165 declined and 31 remained unchanged.
