‘GDP to decrease for violence’ Finance Minister AMA Muhith

DHAKA: Finance Minister AMA Muhith on Sunday categorically said that the estimated Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita growth rate for the current fiscal year might not be achieved if ongoing violence continues.

He expressed his after attending a meeting of Human Development Foundation (HDF) leaders at the secretariat in the capital.

AMA Muhith, however, added that the government might re-fix the GDP target in this situation.

The ruling Awami League policymaker, terming BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia as ‘the enemy of the country’, also said that no one but a stupid can harm to the motherland.
