DHAKA: The benchmark indices of the country’s two bourses – Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – witnessed gain in the opening hours on Monday (October 3), the second trading session of the week.

The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, DSEX, gained over 9.64 points and 0.20 percent to stand at 4700.57 at 1:30pm.

Trade deals stood at 86,206 with transaction at Tk 4024.136 million.

Of the issues traded, 126 advanced, 140 declined and 56 remained unchanged.

MJL Bangladesh Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 195.44 million having changed hands till then.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, as CSCX, the prime index of CSE, gained 16.92 points to stand at 8783.76.

Out of the issues traded, 89 gained, 90 declined and 39 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 168,383,647.
