DHAKA: A good number of tax payers gathered on the premises of National Board of Revenue (NBR) in city on Sunday (November 6) to join the ongoing tax fair there.

Both male and female tax payers queued orderly to pay taxes in the fair.

A boutique businesswoman from city’s older section Lima Khan told Banglanews that for the first time she came to pay her taxes in the fair.

“I thought it will be hazardous but it is very organized and feeling good,” she expressed her joy after paying the tax.

Another tax payer Belal Hossain also expressed his pleasure to Banglanews saying that he paid his tax without any hazard.

According to NBR data, there are 18 lakh Tax Identification Number (TIN) holders in the country but of them over 12-lakh submit their returns.

The NBR further said that they had received Tk 1,417-cr on the fifth day of the fair, to end on November 7.
