DHAKA: The cabinet approved the proposed budget of the fiscal year 2018-19 in a meeting at Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat on Thursday (June 7) noon.

This will be the tenth budget of the incumbent Awami League-led government after it assumed power in January of 2014.

The size of the budget is Tk 4,64,573 crore.

With Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair, ministers, state ministers and secretaries attended the meeting. 

Meanwhile, Finance Minister AMA Muhith has started placing the 47th national budget for Fiscal Year 2018-19 in the parliament since 12:40pm.

However, the finance minister is expected to hold a press conference over the various aspects of the budget.
