DHAKA: Share prices at the country’s both bourses-- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- ended high on Monday (Dec 24).

DSEX, the benchmark index of DSE, gained 18.31 points or 0.34 percent to reach 5,300.09 points at the closing of the day’s trading.

Of the issues traded on the day, 177 gained, 127 declined and 38 remained unchanged.

Trade deals stood at 96,777 with volume of transactions at Tk 3,574.19 million.

Khulna Power Company Ltd topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 180.72 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd, IFAD Autos Limited, BRAC Bank Ltd, BDCOM Online Ltd, Shasha Denims Limited, Bangladesh Export Import Company Limited, Paramount Textile Ltd, United Power Generations and Distribution Company Ltd and Intech Limited.

Similarly, the CSE overall share index, CASPI gained 27.68 points to stand at 16222.25 points.

Of the issues traded, 109 advanced, 83 suffered and 38 remained unchanged.

Shares worth Tk 324.71 million were traded on the day.
