DHAKA: Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) called upon demonstrating ready-made garment workers to return to their respective workplace by Monday (Jan 14).

“If you do not return to your workplace within the given time, your will not get wage,” BGMEA president Siddiqur Rahman warned the workers. 

He made the call while addressing a press conference on the prevailing unrest in the garment sector at BGMEA Bhaban in the city on Sunday (Jan 13).

He urged the workers of various factories who have been demonstrating for several days in Gazipur and Ashulia areas to go back to work.

Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries president Md. Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin, senior officials of BGMEA were also present at the programme.
