DHAKA: Eminent businessman of the country Salman F Rahman has been reappointed as private sector Industry and Investment adviser to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The premier appointed him under the power of Rules of Business 1996 3(B) (i) on Tuesday (January 15).

A notification signed by Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam was issued in this regard.

Salman F Rahman, Member of Parliament (MP) of Dhaka-1 constituency, will enjoy the status of a minister while working being unpaid.

Salman F Rahman is the Vice-Chairman of BEXIMCO Group - the largest private sector group in Bangladesh.

He is also a pioneer in establishing a wide range of industries including textiles, trading, marine food, real estate development, hospitality, construction, information and communication technologies, media, ceramics, aviation, pharmaceuticals and energy.

He was the president of FBCCI, the apex organization of businessmen of the country. He is associated with many social and charitable organizations.
