Robi 3.5G commercial launch for customers

DHAKA: Mobile phone operator Robi Axiata Limited has officially announced the launch of 3.5G services for its customers at select areas of Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet.

The 3.5G network has been expanded since network launch to cover a wider selection of areas in Dhaka, Chittagong, and Sylhet.

Robi continues to work quickly to establish 3.5G capability in as many locations as possible in the three regions as well as into other areas of the country.
 
Robi continuously invests in its network to offer customers the fastest and most reliable mobile broadband experience. With uncapped Robi 3.5G speeds customers will enjoy an unrivalled experience for multimedia content, web surfing, games and file downloads on the move.
 
While Robi has not introduced 3G packs at this time, customers can access Robi’s 3.5G services at the selected locations on the ‘Pay as You Go’ tariff at a 24-hour flat rate of BDT0.015/KB.
 
Moreover, Robi launches a special promo bonus pack for all customers - everyone who buys existing 2G Monthly Packs (i.e. 1GB, 3GB & 5GB) will get 1GB of 3G data bonus for free.

The 1GB, 2GB & 5GB packs all have 30-day validity for 2G data, but the free 1GB of 3G data will be valid for 90 days.
 
The 1GB monthly pack will cost BDT 275, the 3GB monthly pack cost BDT 450, and the 5GB monthly pack cost BDT 650.
 
Robi customers can also avail an extra bonus offer for free “On-net Robi-to-Robi video calls” throughout the month of November 2013 on their 3G-enabled phones.

Through the offer Robi customers on a 3G network can place a video call to any of their friends or family who are also on a 3G network.
