The protesting students of Dhaka’s Seven Colleges have issued a fresh 24-hour ultimatum, demanding justice for their injured peers.
The announcement was made by Abdur Rahman, an organizer of the movement to transform Seven Colleges into universities, during a press conference at Dhaka College on Tuesday (January 28) evening.
Addressing the media, Abdur Rahman said, “No final resolution has been reached yet. We believe that justice for those responsible for injuring our fellow students is essential for any meaningful solution. In the interest of the nation and to maintain stability, the previously announced ultimatum was withdrawn. However, the new 24-hour ultimatum will remain in effect until justice is served against the attackers.”
The students have emphasized that their protest aims to ensure accountability and safeguard the rights of their peers.
Earlier, today the protesting students of Dhaka's Seven Colleges have withdrawn their plans to blockade New Market Police Station and halt Dhaka University (DU) bus services after the government assured them that their demands would be addressed through appropriate measures.
