12 accused on remand, 21 to jail

DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Saturday placed 12 people on a one-day remand for police interrogation and sent 21 to jail for their alleged involvement with the forgery in the honours first-year admission tests of Dhaka and Jagannath University.

Metropolitan Magistrate Atiqur Rahman of CMM Court passed the order when police produced them before the court with one-day remand plea of each.

On Friday, DU and JnU authorities held the 33 people on charge of adopting forgery in the honours first-year admission tests for the session 2014-15.

Seven cases were filed with Mirpur, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Ramna, Shahbagh, New Market, Lalbagh and Chakbazar Thanas in city in this connection.
