DHAKA: Several hundred students of Mathematics department at Dhaka College staged demonstration in the city on Wednesday demanding application opportunity to the 35th BCS (Bangladesh Civil Service) examinations.

The students formed a human chain in front of the college in the morning followed by a protest procession.

Speakers at the human chain said, advertisement of the 35th BCS says, students who will complete their honors final year examination by October 30 can apply for the BCS examinations.

But the honors final year exams of Mathematics under National University will be finished on November 1, so Mathematics students are going to miss the BCS examinations, they added.

They urged the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC), the body which administers the BCS tests, to think abut them and demanded time extension.

The students also warned of going for tougher movement unless BPSC meet their demands by October 28.
