JSC-JDC exams begin Friday

DHAKA: Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations have begun Friday (November 7).

On the first day, JSC Bangla 1st Part and JDC Quran Majid and Tazbid examinations have kicked-off at 9:00am.

Education Ministry sources said the JSC and JDC examinations are taking place in different question papers in eight divisions of the country this year.

The examinations were scheduled to be held earlier on November 2 but later these were rescheduled due to the nationwide hartal enforced by Jamaat-e-Islami.

A total of 2,090,692 students are appearing in the JSC and JDC examinations this year. Out of them, 1,764,595 are appearing in JSC and 326,097 in JDC.

The examinations, earlier scheduled for November 2 and 3, were rescheduled to be held on November 7 and 14.

Moreover, the examinations, earlier scheduled for November 5 and 6, have been rescheduled for November 19 and 20.

JSC Bangla 2nd Part and JDC Aqayeed and Fiqah and At-Tawhid, earlier scheduled for November 3, will be held at 9:00am on November 14.

JSC English 1st Part and JDC Arabic 1st Part will be held at 10:00am on November 19 while JSC English 2nd Part and JDC Arabic 2nd Part examinations will be held at 10:00am on November 20.

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said all the specially abled students will get 20 minutes more time to answer the questions while the students who have impaired vision, cerebral palsy related problems and those who do not have hands can bring amanuensis with them.
