RU (RAJSHAHI): The ninth convocation of Rajshahi University (RU) will be held on January 18.

Professor Ilias Hossain, administrator of the public relations division of the university, confirmed the matter.

After getting a nod from President M Abdul Hamid and also RU chancellor, the education ministry informed the convocation date to the university’s vice-chancellor Dr Muhammad Mizanuddin on Monday night, he said.

The registration process to attend the convocation was open from October 20 to November 30.

However, the former students who achieve masters, MBBS, BDS, MPhil and PhD degrees from 2006 to 2010 can participate in the convocation.

Earlier, the convocation was scheduled to be held sometime in December, Professor Ilias added.

The eighth convocation of the university was held on December 9, 2012, after around 14 years of the seventh convocation.
