CU teacher sacked for sexually abusing female student

DHAKA: Authorities of the Chittagong University Monday terminated Abdullah Al Mamun , Assistant Professor of Anthropology Department, from his job on charge of sexually abusing a female student of the same Department.

The decision was taken at a syndicate meeting with Vice-chancellor Dr. Abu Yusuf Alam in the chair.  
Besides, the syndicate also dismissed an official of CU Transport Pool for taking bribe from people in exchange of giving them job in the varsity.
Syndicate member and CU professor AKM Tofazzal Haque confirmed the syndicate decision of firing a teacher and an official of Transport Pool.
He told banglanews24.com.bd, “Two probe-bodies were formed to investigate the allegation against Mamun. Both the committee found the allegation true after investigation. So, he was sacked permanently.”

Earlier on October 21, 2009, a fourth year female student brought allegation against Mamun for developing an illegitimate relation with her in the name of marriage.
