DU ‘Gha’ unit entry test held, 4 detained

DHAKA: The 1st year honors admission test of Dhaka University (DU) under 'Gha' unit for the academic session 2015-16 was  held on Friday.

The 120-mark MCQ test started from 10:00am at 87 centers in the city, including 52 centers on DU campus and ended at 11:00am.

As many as 90,130 students have applied against 1,465 seats this year.
That means, 62 applicants are vying against each seat this year.

Acting proctor of Dhaka University A Amjad Ali said that no untoward incident was reported from any exam center.

But, four people, including a student of the varsity, were held hours before the exam on charge of cheating admission seekers alluring them to supply ‘leaked’ question papers.

Later, the detainees were handed over to police.

To avoid any unfair mean in the exam, electronic devices including calculator, mobile phone or other telecommunication equipment have been prohibited in the examination hall.

Mobile court remained vigilant at centers during the examination.
