CHATTOGRAM:  Chattogram University is set to unveil a new sculpture known as ‘Joy Bangla’ erected in front of Agrani Bank area of the campus.

The sculpture, themed on the Bangladesh Liberation War 1971, will be inaugurated at 3 pm on Thursday (October 25).

Sohrab Jahan, a student of Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Chattogram, is the architect of the sculpture.

“The sculpture is built upon 2 layers. It is around 20 feet tall,” Sohrab Jahan told Banglanews.

The motive behind installation of the sculpture is to promote values of the Liberation War.

Vice-Chancellor of CU Prof Dr. Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury will unveil the sculpture at 3 pm, proctor of the university Ali Azgar Chowdhury told Banglanews
