Renowned pop singer Ferdous Wahid was admitted to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in the capital with fever and other illness on Thursday evening.

Moshrraf Azmi, a colleague of Ferdous, confirmed the matter to Banglanews. 

He said Wahid gave his sample to city’s Anwar Khan Medical College and Hospital for a COVID-19 test a week ago after showing symptoms of the disease but test result came back negative, he said.

However, the singer is currently kept under observation at CMH. Doctors again took his sample for Covid-19 test and the result will be known today. 

The 67-year-old singer has been suffering from heart disease, hypertension and diabetes for several years.
