At least ten dengue patients died while 2,095 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (August 5), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 1,069 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 1,426 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total 303 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

According to DGHS, this year till today 4,680 patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 4,654 other patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

A total of 63,968 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 34,523 were in Dhaka and 29,968 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 54,331 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 29,602 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 24,729 others left hospitals outside the capital. 

Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered in last year.
