At least 15 dengue patients died while 3,123 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (September 26), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 774 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 2,349 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of 943 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 1, 93,881 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 80,490 were in Dhaka and 1, 13,391 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 1,82,782 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 76,292 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 1,06,490 others left hospitals outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 3,581 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 6,575 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year.
