Dengue: 11 more die, 1,802 hospitalised in 24 hours

At least 11 dengue patients died while 1,802 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (October 26), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 409 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 1,393 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of 1,306 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 2,62, 631 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 97,255 were in Dhaka and 1,65, 376 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 2,54, 180 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 94,440 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 1,59,740 others left hospitals outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 2,022 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 5,123 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year.
