Dengue: 11 more die, 1,333 hospitalised in 24 hours

At least 11 more dengue patients died while 1, 333 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (November 10), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 298 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 1,035 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of 1,460 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 2,88,572 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 1,02,889 were in Dhaka and 1,85,683 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 2, 80,904 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 1, 00,443 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 1, 80,461 others left hospitals outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 1,589 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 4,619 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year.
