Dengue: 6 more die, 1,512 hospitalised in 24 hours

At least 6 more dengue patients died while 1, 512 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (November 11), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 338 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 1,174 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of 1,466 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 2,90,084 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 1,03,227 were in Dhaka and 1,86,857 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 2,82,245 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 1, 00,758 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 1, 81,487 others left hospitals outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 1,608 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 4,765 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year.
