One more dengue patient died while 605 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (December 2), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 139 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 466 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of 1,629 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 3,12,964 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 1,08,113 were in Dhaka and 2,04,851 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 3,07,919 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 1,06,274 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 2,01,645 others left hospitals outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 897 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 2,519 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year.
