Dengue: Two more dies, 362 hospitalised in a day

At least two more dengue patient died while 362 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (December 9), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 94 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 268 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of 1,652 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 3,16,773 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 1,08,912 were in Dhaka and 2,07,861 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 3,12,709 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 1,07,347 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 2,05,362 others left hospitals outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 611 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 1,801 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year.
