Two dengue patients die, 311 hospitalized in 24 hours

At least two more dengue patient died while 311 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (December 12), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 80 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 231 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of 1,667 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 3,17,956 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 1,09,181 were in Dhaka and 2,08,775 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 3,14,308 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 1,07,645 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 2,06,663 others left hospitals outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 575 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 1,406 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year.
