Dengue: 33 hospitalised, zero death in 24 hrs

At least 33 dengue patients were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (January 5), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 17 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 16 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of three patients died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 323 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 115 were in Dhaka and 208 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 566 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 156 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 410 others left hospitals outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 230 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 221 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 1,705 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 3, 21, 179 patients were admitted in hospital.
