The Gulshan Society, in collaboration with TishCAN and Renata PLC arranged "Pink October Afternoon" at Gulshan Lake Park. The event was organized to raise awareness about breast cancer within the community through a variety of engaging activities on Saturday (October 19).

The event featured an awareness rally in and around Gulshan. After the rally, renowned physician, Dr. Lubna Marium, Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology at United Hospital delivered a compelling presentation on Early Detection of Breast Cancer followed by a panel discussion. 

Esteemed professionals in the field, including Dr. Asim Sengupta, Senior Consultant, Clinical & Radiation Oncology of United Hospital, Dr. Rumana Dowla, Founder Chairperson of Bangladesh Palliative & Supportive Care Foundation, Dr. Shifat Tanjila, Assistant Professor & Surgical Consultant of LabAid Gulshan, Ms. Lazina Amin, Communications Coordinator of PHWC - Sajida Foundation, Mr. Zahid Hassan Khan, Director of Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore – Bangladesh Office, and Ms. Nuzhat Tarannum, Breast Cancer Survivor and Founder of TishCAN participated in the discussion. The panelists captivated the audience with their expert and insightful deliberations.

Barrister Omar Sadat, President of the Gulshan Society concluded the event by expressing gratitude to event partners TishCAN and Renata PLC as well as other sponsors Turag for the and Sun. United Hospital set up a private booth to provide training on self-testing for breast cancer. 

The Convener of the Event Ms. Srabanti Dutta and the Convener of the Women & Children's Affair Ms. Zeenat Amin and Co- Convener Ms. Joya Kabir were present at the event. Additionally, representatives from LabAid, Praava Health, and Mt. Elizabeth Hospital were present to provide essential information and share special offers.

The event concluded with a heartwarming musical performance by Farhin Khan Joyita and Shemonty Monjari who sang songs of hope, life and love to inspire for a healthy and happy life.
