Two dengue patients died and 22 others were hospitalised across the country in the past 24 hours, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Of the new cases, 10 were reported in Barishal, two in Chattogram, four in Dhaka division, and six in Dhaka city.

With these, the total number of dengue cases this year has reached 2,074, with 16 deaths. 

Last year, the total number of cases rose to 1,01,214 while 575 deaths from dengue disease were reported, the statement said.
