Bangladesh recorded five more dengue deaths and 841 hospital admissions in the past 24 hours, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said on Tuesday (October 14).
The DGHS issued a press statement from its Health Emergency Operations Center and Control Room.
Of the new admissions, 214 were outside Dhaka in Dhaka Division; 173 in Dhaka North City Corporation; 128 in Dhaka South City Corporation; 125 in Barishal Division (outside the city corporation); 106 in Chattogram Division (outside the city corporation); 47 in Rajshahi Division (outside the city corporation); 26 in Khulna Division (outside the city corporation); 19 in Mymensingh Division (outside the city corporation); and three in Sylhet Division (outside the city corporation).
Over the same period, 793 patients were discharged. So far this year, 53,354 patients have left hospital after treatment.
As of Monday (October 13), Bangladesh has logged 56,257 dengue cases in 2025—61.1% male and 38.9% female. The latest fatalities bring the year’s death toll to 238.
By comparison, the country reported 101,214 dengue cases and 575 deaths in 2024, and 321,179 cases with 1,705 deaths in 2023.
