No Covid death in 24 hours, 19 hospitalised

Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) today reported of no death reported due to Covid-19 in the country and 19 people hospitalised in the past 24 hours.

A press release was issued in this regard by DGHS on Thursday (June 26) afternoon.

The report said wih the latest cases, a total of 518 people have been infected with the virus so far this year. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the country has risen to 2,052,063.

A total of 412 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. Till now, 15,731,042 samples have been tested across the country.

According to the DGHS, no new death was reported from the virus in the last 24 hours. However, 19 people have died due to Covid-19 so far this year, taking the total number of fatalities in Bangladesh to 29,518.

The daily infection rate stood at 4.61 percent, while the overall detection rate is 13.05 percent. The recovery rate stands at 98.41 percent, and the case fatality rate is 1.44 percent.

Bangladesh detected its first three Covid-19 cases on March 8, 2020. The first death from the virus was reported on March 18 the same year.
