DHAKA: Three members of a family, who are suffering from massive bark-like warts on their hands and feet, a disease known as epidermodysplasia verruciformis, were admitted to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) on Wednesday (March 9).

The patients were identified as Based Ali, 55, his younger brother Tajul Islam, 40 and Tajul’s son Ruhul Amin, 8, hailed from Abdullapur of Pirganj upazila of Rangpur.

Based told banglanews that all three of them have been suffering from the disease after a few years of their birth.

He also said he went to a physician from a clinic in Rangpur. The physician, however, amputated his legs from below the knee last year.

DMCH burn unit coordinator Dr Samanta Lal Sen told banglanews that they will form a board on Thursday (March 10) to diagnose the disease.
