Bangladesh reports 39 deaths, 2,212 corona cases in 24-hr

Bangladesh today reported a sudden surge in coronavirus (COVID-19) deaths as 39 more died from the viral infection in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll to 6,254. 

According to the Health authorities, 2,212 people have tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours raising the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 436,684.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the update of the country’s coronavirus situation issuing a press release this afternoon.

As 1,749 patients have recovered in last 24 hours, the number of total recoveries reached 352,895, it also said.

A total of 2,572,952 samples have been tested so far with 15,990 samples tested in 117 coronavirus testing laboratories across the country in last 24 hours, the release added.

Bangladesh reported its first Coronavirus case on March 8 while first death on March 18.
