Bangladesh sees 40 deaths, 1,877 corona cases in 24-hr

Bangladesh today confirmed 40 deaths from the coronavirus (COVID-19) infection in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll to 7,129. 

According to the Health authorities, 1,877 people have tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours raising the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 494,209.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the update of the country’s coronavirus situation issuing a press release this afternoon.

As 2,884 patients have recovered in last 24 hours, the number of total recoveries reached 426,729, it also said.

A total of 3,005,512 samples have been tested so far with 19,054 samples tested in 140 coronavirus testing laboratories across the country in last 24 hours, the release added.

Bangladesh reported its first Coronavirus case on March 8 while first death on March 18.
