Bangladesh today confirmed 12 deaths from coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll to 8,527.

According to the Health authorities, 1,014 people have tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours raising the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 556,236.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the update of the country’s coronavirus situation issuing a press release this afternoon.

As 1,138 patients have recovered in last 24 hours, the number of total recoveries reached 510,310, it also said.

A total of 4,248,345 samples have been tested so far with 16,206 samples tested in 219 coronavirus testing laboratories across the country in last 24 hours, the release added.

Bangladesh reported its first Coronavirus case on March 8 in last year while first death on March 18 in that year.
