Bangladesh today confirmed 35 deaths from coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll to 8,904.
According to the Health authorities, 3,908 people have tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours raising the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 595,714.
This is the highest in a single day count since July 2, 2020, when the country reported 4,019 corona cases.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the update of the country’s coronavirus situation issuing a press release this afternoon.
In the last 24 hours, 2,019 patients were declared free of Covid-19 during the same period, raising the total number of recoveries to 535,941, the release added.
Meanwhile, 22,136 samples were tested in 224 labs across the country in the past 24 hours. A total of 45,88,830 samples have been tested in the country so far.
Bangladesh reported its first Coronavirus case on March 8 in last year while first death on March 18 in that year.
