Two die of dengue, 857 hospitalised in last 24 hours

Two more dengue patients died and 857 people were hospitalised with the mosquito-borne disease across the country in the last 24 hours Monday (Oct 17), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 523 new dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals in Dhaka, said the DGHS release.

However, 334 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 2,015 patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 989 other patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Some 26,038 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue till today while 22,938 patients returned home after recovery since January 1.

However, this year a total 96 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered in last year. A total of 105 died from the mosquito-borne disease during that time.
