DHAKA: A Turkish Airlines plane enroute to Sao Paolo has made an emergency landing in Algeria following a bomb warning.

Doğan News Agency reported on Sunday, reports daily Hurriyet.

Bomb-dismantling experts are inspecting the plane for explosives, the report said, without further elaborating.

The plane took off on the morning of January 12 from Istanbul’s Atatürk Airport, the report said.

Turkish Airlines officials said the landing was a standard procedure after an unclaimed notebook computer was found in the passenger cabin, according to private broadcaster NTV.

Istanbul-Sao Paolo is one of Turkish Airlines’ longest flight routes.
