Dhaka: Muggers fatally stabbed a man walking on the sidewalk of the road in Kalapani area under Mirpur Thana in the city on Monday night and he succumbed to his injuries Tuesday.   
 
The deceased was identified as Abdur Rahim, 26, son of Mohammad Israil.

Witnesses said Rahim was walking with his friend on the roadside around 9:30pm when some miscreants snatched their cell phones and money, stabbing them brutally.

Local people rushed in and found them critically injured. They informed the police instantly.

Then police also rushed to the spot and sent them to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where critically injured Rahim died this (Tuesday) morning.

A case was filed with Pallabi Thana in connection with the mugging and murder, latest one in a series of such banditry on Dhaka’s streets of late.
