Members of the airport Armed Police Battalion (APBN) detective seized six gold bars weighing around 696 grams at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Friday (Nov 14) afternoon.

The arrested person was identified as Hossain Mahmud, 29, hailed from Bariya village of Daganbhooiya police station in Feni district.

According to report, 6 gold bars, 296 grams of gold ornaments (weighing 296 grams), 3 laptops with chargers and 2 iPhones were recovered from him. The value of seized goods is 71 lakh 60 thousand taka.

However, the estimated price of the gold bar is Tk 1.4 crore.

Airport Armed Police Additional Superintendent of Police Ziaul Haque confirmed the matter

A case has been lodged against the person as per law, he added.
