Newly elected managing committee of Jatiya Press Club (JPC) today (Jan 16) paid homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Tungipara in Gopalganj.

The committee led by its President Farida Yeasmin and Secretary Shyamol Dutta placed a floral wreath at the mausoleum of Bangabandhu at Tungipara this noon.

JPC vice president Rejwanul Haque Raja, joint general secretaries Ayub Bhuiyan and Ashraf Ali, treasurer Shahed Chowdhury, members Farid Hossain, Kazi Rownak Hossain, Shahnaj Siddiqui Soma, Kallyan Saha and Zulhas Alam and other senior journalists were present.

Later, the JPC leaders stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark of profound respect to the memory of Bangabandhu, the architect of Bangladesh's Independence.

They offered special Doa, seeking eternal peace of Bangabandhu and other martyrs of the August 15 carnage as well as martyrs of the War of Liberation.

Besides, JPC President Farida Yeasmin and Secretary Shyamol Dutta signed the visitors' book there.
