Hijra leader Aleya today (April 9) handed over Tk 2 lakh as financial support to the Bangabazar Shopping Complex traders who incurred huge losses for the recent fire incident.

Aleya arrived at the scene at 11 a.m. and handed over the assistance to the Bangabazar Complex Shop Owners Association.

She said, "I was hurt by the recent fire incident, once we used to take financial support from the traders of Bangabazar. Today those traders are destitute after losing everything. So I am giving Tk 2 lakh from my Hajj savings to these affected businessmen."

At this time, Aleya called upon the countrymen to stand by the affected businessmen of Bangabazar.

Joint General Secretary of Bangabazar Complex Shop Owners Association Mohan Mia said, "Aleya stood by us during this our hard time. We don't want to belittle by thanking her. A little help from anyone right now is a big help to us."
