Three people were hacked and critically injured by cousins due to a land dispute in Faridpur.
The incident took place at Bhajandangi Guchchagram of Faridpur municipality around 10 am on Sunday (April 9).
The three injured are Mohsin Fakir, 45, Majnu Fakir, 35, and Bajlu Fakir, 32, son of Tara Fakir, a resident of Bhajandanga Guchchagram area. Three are brothers.
According to locals, the dispute started around 10 am on Sunday morning over the tree border of the house. At one point, Mizan Mallik and his brother Abul Mallik and their father Ismail Mallik, and some women members of the family along with sharp weapons hacked and injured the three brothers.
Meanwhile, Mohsin's left wrist was almost severed. Majnu has sharp weapon wounds on his head and face and Bajlu has wounds on his hands and shoulders.
Injured were taken to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital in Faridpur, and the doctor in charge, transferred Mohsin to the National Orthopedic Hospital and Rehabilitation Institute in Dhaka as his case was critical. The other two brothers have been admitted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital in Faridpur.
Faridpur Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) MA Jalil confirmed the matter.
